Protecta Service Coat FR-1 is a premium, water-based intumescent coating specifically designed for the fire protection of cables in service installations. This innovative coating provides exceptional fire resistance, ensuring that your installations are safeguarded against the most challenging fire scenarios. Protecta FR Coating, when used in combination with Protecta FR Board, upgrades the insulation and integrity of your installation, achieving a higher fire classification. This durable, non-toxic, and emission-free coating is halogen-free and features added preservatives that resist bacteria and fungal growth, providing extra protection to health. The coating is easy to apply, offering excellent coverage by brush or spray, and requires only a single coat to be effective. It is also very easy to clean and gives a smoorth, rich non-reflective finish. Key Features: It is a high performance, fire resistant coating, designed to be applied as a thin film on services protecting cables, cable trays and metal pipes in a fire. Once a protective topcoat has been applied, Protecta® Service Coat FR-1 can be used in exterior applications. Non-toxic and emission free fire resistant coating, with near zero VOCs and best possible emission classifications. Durable, robust and designed to last; can be cleaned with a damp cloth without the risk of washing off the coating. Brush and roller applications can also be performed, often in only a few coats. Topcoat is normally not necessary. Suitable for most surfaces, including rubber, plastics, concrete, bricks, masonry, primed steel, wood, gypsum and most non-porous surfaces, in most cases without a primer. The coating’s durability is expected to be at least 12 years, making it a cost effective option in comparison to normal paints with limited durability. The intumescent coating is not intended for application on bituminous substrates or substrates that can exude certain oils and plasticizers or solvents. Do not apply in very damp or humid conditions, or extreme temperatures.
