What Is Nitrile Rubber Pipe Lagging? Nitrile rubber (NBR) is the professional standard for black pipe insulation across HVAC, refrigeration, air conditioning, and plumbing. Its closed-cell structure acts as a built-in vapour barrier, preventing moisture from reaching the pipe surface and eliminating the need for a separate vapour barrier on installation.
